A thought experiment
An offer
What if you had a day without consequences…
An iced cold martini with olives at a hotel bar
In real life,
My sobriety app is reset to 0 days
2 1/2 years down the drain
But not today!
Not on the day without consequences
And it tastes sooooo good.
Go deep into the Sequoia Nation Forest and listen to the trees
In real life,
No cell service, wouldn’t know if she spiked a fever of 100.4
But not today!
Today the trees say, “Welcome. How are you?”
And I say, “Good.” And I actually mean it.
And the air feels soooo good.
And I just breathe.
That fixer-upper house in Chapel Hill becomes my new passion project
“We’re leaving LA” I announce to my friends
A new chapter back at home on the East Coast
No… But wait
Her doctors are here, her treatment is here, you need to be here for three plus years
No… Wait… I keep forgetting… no consequences
You’re free!
Hush puppies and sweet tea here I come
Ooh wait, I can change all my RSVPS
Yes to your birthday in Rome
Yes to your wedding in Ireland
Yes to family trip to Poland
Yes to a coffee
I’m in!
I’m there!
I’m there…. I’m here.
I’m here
Mommy’s here
I got you
I’m not going
I’m here
